A new report over at The Wrap has revealed that Marvel Studios is finally working on a standalone Black Widow movie.

According to the trade, Jac Schaeffer has been tapped to pen a solo movie focusing on the fan-favorite spy played by Scarlett Johansson. Schaeffer is best known for her work on the 2009 sci-fi romance TiMER, which she wrote and directed, as well as the recent short Olaf’s Frozen Adventure.

Fans have been asking for a Black Widow movie since her debut in 2010’s Iron Man 2, but the character has so far only appeared in a supporting role in the two Avengersmovies and other standalone Marvel Cinematic Universe features. Johansson has previously explained that the busy schedules of both herself and Marvel Studios had been a roadblock for a Black Widow solo film.

Johansson’s Black Widow can next be seen in this summer’s Marvel mega-event Avengers: Infinity War. The character is already confirmed to appear in the yet-to-be-titled fourth Avengers movie, which opens on May 3, 2019.

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4, 2017.
