Spider-Man from Insomniac Games is one of this year’s most highly-anticipated titles, and a select few have been lucky enough to get to play through the whole game as beta testers — some more than once.

A few days ago, Insomniac Games revealed through their Twitter that the Spider-Mangame they’ve been so hard at work on is nearly complete, with playtesting underway:

The project still does not yet have a release date. Even then, the reactions so far are unanimously glowing — while they don’t get into the specifics of the game itself, they all indicate that the game could be the best Spider-Man title yet:

The game features Peter Parker at the age of 23, making him a well-seasoned Spider-Man who is eight years into his crime-fighting career. What little is known about the story at this time indicates that the central threat will be Mister Negative and his gang of Inner Demons.

“Starring one of the world’s most iconic Super Heroes, Spider-Man features the acrobatic abilities, improvisation and web-slinging that the wall-crawler is famous for, while also introducing elements never-before-seen in a Spider-Man game. From traversing with parkour and unique environmental interactions, to new combat and cinematic blockbuster set pieces, it’s Spider-Man unlike any you’ve played before.”

Marvel’s Spider-Man will be released as a PS4 exclusive in the first half of this year. Yuri Lowenthal will voice Peter Parker (Spider-Man); also confirmed to appear are Wilson Fisk (The Kingpin), Martin Li (Mr. Negative), Mary Jane Watson, May Parker, Miles Morales, and Ganke Lee.
