Omega Underground has revealed that 20th Century Fox’s Gambit movie starring Channing Tatum is set to begin filming on March 19th in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Pirates of the Caribbean and The Ring helmer Gore Verbinski is directing Gambit from a script written by Joshua Zetumer. The long-gestating X-Men spin-off will be shooting under the code name “Forevermore.”

In the comics, Remy LeBeau, a.k.a. Gambit, is a mutant with the ability to manipulate objects using kinetic energy. Hailing from New Orleans, Gambit is perhaps best known for manipulating playing cards. Tatum is on board as the titular superhero, with Lizzy Caplan in talks for the female lead.

The film is one of several X-Men projects in development at 20th Century Fox. This year alone, Fox is releasing The New Mutants on April 13, 2018, followed by Deadpool 2 on June 1, 2018, and  X-Men: Dark Phoenix on November 2, 2018.

Gambit is currently scheduled to hit theaters on February 14, 2019.
